Smart streetlighting.

ACON smart LED street lights can be monitored, metered, controlled and dimmed from anywhere, wirelessly — one light at a time, or a whole city at once.

BRTS corridor, Ahmedabad

In 2014 we commissioned India’s first smart street-lighting project, across the whole of GIFT City. Today we are helping turn Ahmedabad’s 37,500 street lights into one smart city platform — on a luminaire awarded the India Design Mark.

Every light on the network reports on its own and answers on its own. Step through the system, from the luminaire on the pole to the software that runs it.
Smart street light system architecture: street lights linked wirelessly to communication infrastructure, with real-time alerts, 0–100% dimming, real-time control and smart schedules; a firewall and security encryption sit between the network and the management software.

The luminaire

Each street light has a universal NEMA receptacle, so a sensor or controller plugs straight in. Every pole has its own number on the network.

ACON's LED street luminaire for urban and suburban contexts, awarded the India Design Mark by the India Design Council. An advanced cut-off system eliminates skyward light dispersion and is designed to save maximum energy with high photometric performance.

Control from the network, light that stays on the road, and hardware rated for 50,000 hours.

AControl

  • Wireless controlMonitored, metered, controlled and dimmed wirelessly, from anywhere.
  • Group controlAddress one light, or a whole group of lights at once.
  • Universal NEMA receptaclePlug-and-play sensor installation on the luminaire.
  • Auto-restartOver-voltage protection that restarts the light by itself.

BLight

  • Modular UV-protected opticsACON’s own optics raise luminaire efficiency by 20%.
  • Uniformity ratio up 25%An evenly lit road, with no dark patches.
  • Zero light pollutionAn advanced cut-off system stops light going skyward.
  • Tiltable LED angleThe LED angle can be tilted to suit the road.

CEndurance

  • Over 180 lm/W* system efficacyMinimum energy for the most light, used where it is needed.
  • Thermal managementRear heat-sink fins carry heat away from the LEDs.
  • Surge protection above 10 kVProtection for the luminaire against voltage surges.
  • 50,000 hoursOperational lifespan of the luminaire.
